Junebug
I think this is one of those movies I appreciated, but did not really enjoy. The performances were generally good and the script was solid, but somehow, it never really grabbed me.
So what was the problem? I think it boils down to this: this movie had no point. Junebug tells the story of an artsy city girl spending time with a rural family. The film basically shows a week in the lives of these people. Except for Ashley (Amy Adams) none of the characters are all that interesting to watch. At the end of the movie, it not clear that anything interesting has happened. The characters don't seem to have grown particularly, and the story, while mildy interesting, did not really provide enough to carry the film.
Maybe to spice things up Madeleine (Embeth Davidtz) should had turned into a Deadite Queen.
